Situated on the east of Durbar Square, it houses an army of individual stores that sells almost everything one can think of. The oldest mall of the city is also located in this part of the city. A shopping destination for all classes of people, New Road is the business hub of the city and one can find anything in the cheapest of price after a little haggling. Though people come here to shop for clothes and accessories, this market area is known for selling gem stones based on astronomical reading.
