Nestled in the core area of the park, this zone is known for its dense Sal forests, grasslands, and the majestic Ramganga River. Renowned for its abundant tiger population, this zone offers an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience. The Dhikala Forest Rest House, overlooking the Ramganga reservoir, provides an ideal vantage point for observing the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in this pristine wilderness.
Jhirna Zone
The Jhirna Zone features open grasslands and scrub vegetation, offering a contrasting landscape compared to the dense forests of other zones. This zone is famed for its population of deer species, including spotted deer and sambar, making it a prime location for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. The Jhirna Rest House serves as a base for exploring the wilderness and witnessing the abundant avian species that call this zone their home.
Bijrani Zone
The Bijrani Zone, known for its varied topography comprising grasslands, dense forests, and a seasonal stream, serves as an ideal habitat for a diverse range of wildlife. This zone is recognized for its natural beauty and offers visitors an opportunity to spot tigers, elephants, and several species of deer. The mesmerizing landscape, dotted with ancient trees and vibrant birds, creates an immersive experience for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
Durga Devi Zone
The Durga Devi Zone, situated along the banks of the Ramganga River, features hilly terrain and dense forests, providing a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and elephants. Garjia Zone
Tourists visiting Corbett National Park need not worry about safari seats being unavailable or fully booked. Given the growing number of visitors, a new safari zone called Ringora Zone or Garjia safari zone has been introduced in Corbett. This new safari zone is now accessible to tourists, providing an additional opportunity for safari adventures.
Sitabani Zone
Sitabani forest zone within Corbett Park is known for nature walks and notable attractions, and operates independently from the Corbett Tiger Reserve, which means it remains exempt from its regulations. It's cherished for its connection to the Epic Ramayana, where Goddess Sita, Lord Rama's wife, spent part of her exile. Supervised by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Sitabani remains accessible year-round for safari tours, with no gypsy limits imposed by the Corbett Tiger Reserve Authority. Permits are issued by the Sitabani Forest Department. The area also features an ancient Lord Shiva temple.
