Luang Prabang night Market is a street market which runs along Sisavangvong Road to the town centre. The market comes alive in the evening around sunset when hill-tribe traders start setting stalls on the main Sisavangvong Road. The market was suppose to last only for few weeks when it first ‘opened its doors’ in December 2002. But with the tourists flocking to the market for souvenir shopping, it has gained popularity. It is now a celebrated market worth visiting. You can find clothes, fashion accessories, bed covers, woven scarves, handicrafts, ceramics, paper lanterns and trinkets in this makeshift market which comes alive every evening. Take a stroll around and make a list of what all you like on the offer. The hawkers are bad negotiators and would agree to even prices lower than the actual cost. So try your bargain skills but be gentle. The pleasant locals are just happy to sell their goodies which they usually make on daily basis. The side lanes around the main road are lined with cafes serving drinks. Reward yourself with pint of Beer Lao after stocking up on the souvenirs at great prices!Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
