Einstein Haus

The walls of Einstein Haus are hallowed because this is where Albert Einstein, the most popular scientist in the world, once resided. Located in the heart of Old Town, the upholsteries of the apartment are exactly the same as they were when the physicist called it home. He arrived in Bern in 1902 and moved into this house in 1903 with his wife Mileva and son Hans. This address is special because this was where Einstein lived his most productive year, i.e., 1905, when he came up with most of his scientific discoveries including his Theory of Relativity. Open to the public on all days, there are exhibits of brilliantly preserved photographs and documents on the second floor. Visitors can also buy books and postcards that detail and celebrate the achievements of the German genius. The residence was renovated in 2005 on the occasion of its anniversary and visits are now a lot more immersive. For a deeper understanding of the adventurous life of the man who changed the world with his thoughts on time and space, a visit to the Einstein Haus is imperative.
