You can find literally anything within the Warorot Market complex (that’s technically made up of several different markets that have fused together). From live frogs and eels to reams of fabric and clothing, fishing nets and kitchenware to Thai snacks and dried food goods, gold jewellry to plastic toys, it’s all here…if you can find it. Shops and stands fill several blocks of buildings so take your time wandering around and seeing what you come across. It’s easy to get turned around in the maze of little streets and shops, but don’t worry, you won’t ever end up too far from where you started and you certainly won’t get bored—there’s too much to look at!One of the most impressive parts of the market from a foreigner’s point of view are the large inside areas selling a wide range of teas, dried fruit and nuts, spices, Northern Thai snacks like fried pork rinds or fermented sour sausage, and goods used in temples and for religious festivals like paper lanterns, incense, candles, and more. At night, the shops close but food stalls open up on the street for nighttime eating.
Note: There’s something going on here at all times, but the main market area and shops are open daily starting early until sunset.
