One doesn’t necessarily think of going to the opera in Edmonton but that is exactly what you should do for an amazing night out. It has been around since 1963, proving itself worthy of being the only professional opera company in Northern Alberta and part of just a handful in all of Western Canada. There are normally three different operas per season that are put on for the audience and deciding which one to attend is normally the most difficult decision. In the 2016-2017 season, the choices are Turandot, Cinderella and Elektra. While the first two concentrate on presenting a love story, Elektra is actually a psychological thriller, which promises to be a haunting thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Tickets start from just $20 per adult making this quite an affordable night out. Performances take place at the Northern Alberta Jubilee which is a stunning venue and offers a lobby as well as light snacks available for purchase. Dress up, dress down, it doesn’t matter here but we suggest making the most out of this evening and getting fancy.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
