Bratislava lives on the either side of Danube River that is a part of not only its physical landscape but also a part of its social and cultural life. I landed in Bratislava towards the evening and was stayed in a hotel that was right on the bank of Danube. I passed through the lovely Eurovea shopping mall to reach the riverside and was happy to suddenly find a lot of company. Scene here was bustling with a row of restaurants with open seating facing the river. Tourists and locals sat in groups chatting, enjoying food by the river. I strolled on the walkway close to the river and saw the young families lounging on the grass and playing small games. The bridges on the Danube were well lit and reflected in the quite waters of Danube. An arch shaped bridge reflecting in the water created a multi-coloured circle and incidentally it was a full moon night and the moon was looking down at the river―smiling. In the morning when I stepped out for my walk around the city, I passed by another stretch of Danube, closer to the bridges and saw many birds sitting on the fences. Big and small boats were plying in the water like the daily commuters on the river.
