798 Art District

Art lovers, ahoy! Beijing’s 798 Art District, located in the Dashanzi area, to the northeast of central Beijing, is the ‘it’ place to visit for picking some edgy and artistic pieces of art. Way back in 2002, a revolution of sort took over 798 as the artists and cultural organisations began to divide, rent out, and re-do the factory spaces, slowly turning them into galleries, art centres, artists' studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars.

The art district is an ever-growing and expanding hub which shows the increasing number of fashion shows, art festivals and international conferences it hosts so frequently.
