Home to several rare wildlife species, the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is located 20 km from the Krabi town. Adding to the beauty of the verdant greens, are the numerous waterfalls, of which Huay To Falls are the most popular. The park has a number of tree species such as teak, takian, dipterocarpus alatus, lagerstroemia, magnolia champaca and parkia speciosa; a variety of animals like leopard, sumatran serow, tapir, black bear, mouse deer; and monkey species such as langur, lar gibbon and stump-tailed macaque. Popular with birdwatchers and photographers, Khao Phanom Bencha is also home to over 200 bird species, including white-crowned hornbill, helmeted hornbill, white-rumped shama, argus pheasant and the endangered Gurney's Pitta. On your way to the park, you can also visit the Tham Pheung cave for its unique stalactites and stalagmites.
