This historic building at the edge of colourful Little India started life in the 1920s as a school. Boutique king Loh Lik Peng collaborated with four local design agencies to create what is now the Wanderlust hotel, and boy did they let their imaginations run wild. The 29 rooms were inspired by surreal themes from Pantone colours to pop art, origami and childhood fantasies. No two rooms are the same. With ceilings covered in dangling felt leaves and designer forest wallpaper, the tree room on the top floor of the hotel is best describes the whimsical nature of Wanderlust. Cocotte, the hotel’s casual, bistro-style restaurant, is perfect for a relaxed lunch of French comfort food.
