Upmarket shopping district popular with lunching ladiesWord to the wise: Although most stores on South Granville are quite high-end, there are still plenty of affordable boutiques like contemporary women's fashion stores Plum and Spank.
An upmarket version of the more eclectic Main Street, South Granville runs the length of Granville Street between 6th and 16th Avenues, and is a hive of fashion boutiques, art galleries, gift stores, beauty salons and expensive eateries.
Although every bit as fashionable as downtown, South Granville boasts a high concentration of Canadian labels like Purdy's Chocolates, the Rocky Mountain Soap Company and Roots (outdoor wear), setting it apart from the more internationally commercial Robson Street. Wealthy Vancouverites who prefer a more sedate shopping experience will spend all day here browsing the stores and gossiping in the numerous coffee houses along the way.
