The place to eat in Europe's greatest market

Word to the wise: There are no reservations, and all 18 seats will invariably be taken. Just stand behind people who look like they're coming to the end of their meal, be patient, and pounce when they leave.
There are several restaurants amongst the stalls at the glorious Boqueria market, but this is the one to head for. Don't worry if you can't work out its whereabouts by the stall numbers: you'll spot it by the permanent queues.

The chef, Quim, has been feeding the market since 1987 and spankingly fresh, expertly-cooked seafood is his main thing, although you can't really go wrong with anything off the menu. Although not wildly cheap, it's completely worth it: both food and ambiance are properly memorable.
Smart customers come for breakfast, when the turnover of seats is quicker and you can watch the market wake up whilst devouring a divine plate of fried eggs and baby squid.
