Iglesia de San Millan

SIGHTSEEING, SEGOVIA Updated : Mar 18, 2016, 10.22 AM IST

Iglesia San MillanA Romanesque church, built in the 12th century, Iglesia de San Millan in pale ochre stands at the beginning of the pedestrian avenue of Fernandez Ladreda. Considered by many to be the best example of Segovian Romanesque style of architecture, the church is simply impressive. It is dominated by the square tower that rises above the church and is built in Mozarab style. It predates the rest of the church. Other features of interest are the porch and the four apses. A little further but on the other side is the equally beautiful church of San Clemente, also built in the Romanesque style with lovely blind arches and notable apse.
