With mountains, turquoise waters, golden sand and tropical flora making for most of this beach’s landscape, Ipenema is Rio’s most visited beach. The beach promenade is home to many of the city’s upscale shops and cafes and the nearby Rua Vincius de Morais, Baixo Farme and Baixo Quiteria streets are lined with expensive bars, clubs and restaurants.
