In yet another unfortunate incident, an Indian train derailed in Uttar Pradesh (UP) early on Friday morning, 24th November, 2017. Vasco da Gama-Patna Express’ 13 coaches derailed in Chitrakoot, killing at least three people and injuring nine others so far. The mishap occurred near Manikpur Railway Station in Chitrakoot, UP. At about approximately 4:18 AM, nine coaches of the Vasco da Gama-Patna Express derailed due to what is being considered fractured railway track, according to officials. Read less

In yet another unfortunate incident, an Indian train derailed in Uttar Pradesh (UP) early on Friday morning, 24th November, 2017. Vasco da Gama-Patna Express’ 13 coaches derailed in Chitrakoot, killing at least three people and injuring nine others so far.
The train derailment also caused problems for other trains running on the same route, while the railway department is in full swing working towards a solution. The Vasco Patna Express time table, along with other trains’ have also been affected, and family and friends can contact the railways to know of their new arrival time.

Piyush Goyal, India’s Railway Minister has already announced ex-gratia compensation to the kin of the dead, to the tune of INR 5 lakh each. Also, INR 1 Lakh for those who are seriously injured in the accident. The minister also tweeted, expressing grief and sending condolences to the victims and their families.
Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister, UP, also announced a compensation of INR 2 Lakh for the family members of those killed in the accident; furthermore, assuring INR 50,000 for every person who is seriously injured, and INR 25,000 for victims of minor injuries.
