28 is said to be the best bar in Singapore, a title that will no doubt be contested by many others. Nevertheless, this American craft cocktail bar that hides behind an unassuming, easy-to-miss entrance boasts of an inimitable ambience that is both casual and elegant. The servers are on friendly terms with most patrons and the punches here are legendary, although they have to be ordered in advance. Located at HongKong Street, 28 features in a list of the World's 50 Best Bars. One of the reasons for this distinction could be its enviable collection of American-style cocktails that almost make you forget that you're in Singapore. The food and snacks menu is also Americanised including mac 'n cheese balls and an American beef burger. So if you're looking for a whiff of Uncle Sam in Asia, you know where to go. Drinkers of craft beers will be gratified to find several options on the menu. If nothing else, come here for the Alma Cubana and Industrial Vice, cocktails that the bartenders at 28 HongKong Street have created especially for competitions.
