A restaurant with a built-in identity crisis, Negro Rojo serves Japanese-inspired fusion food at communal tables on its lower level and more formally served Mediterranean dishes upstairs. The food is good on both floors, a refreshing change in a city that isn't overly well served with good Asian restaurants.

Its the sleek, modern dining rooms that are the real draw here, however, providing an elegantly buzzing bit of restaurant theatre in the heart of Barcelona. The bar is also a destination for cocktails alone, with DJs providing a live mixed soundtrack from Thursdays to Saturdays.
