The Tripura Sundari Temple is a wooden pagoda-style temple that can be accessed via a short walk on a path from Naggar Castle. The gabled roof is a beautiful sight and signals the presence of an old temple. It is just below the road to the Roerich Art Gallery. It is crowned with a three-tiered roof, of which the top storey is designed very beautifully. A big annual fair is held at this temple in the month of May, when processions of deities from local villages arrive.It is a magnificent old temple built of deodar wood with a triple-layered roof. Of the many temples in Naggar, it is arguably the most beautiful. The conical shikhara sits proudly on top of the double slanted roof. The carvings on the right side of the main temple appear to be even older than the main temple itself; the lower two storeys are divided by squat wooden pillars.
The pillars and doors are all made out of wood and have intricately carved designs. The architecture comprises of stone and wood. A lovely, wood-carved Ganesha welcomes one into the temple that also has an open courtyard. It is a tranquil place and a must-visit when in Naggar. There are many other small temples in the complex, with many carved stones and ancient statues.
