Located in one of the by-lanes of Colaba, Ling’s Pavilion, much like Leopold or Regal Cinema, is now inseparable from South Mumbai’s culture and heritage. The restaurant is adorned with oriental artefacts and intimate lighting and, as is the case with many Mumbai eateries, Ling’s wonderfully strange décor is part of what makes it so endearing. The other part is the service. Ever since the restaurant opened in 1991, owners and brothers Baba, Nini and Titi Ling have pottered around tables taking orders for Mandarin chicken, Mongolian beef and steamed pomfret. A favourite amongst patrons of all ages, the restaurant promises authentic meals that give you a real taste and flavour of China. For a sweet ending, indulge in popular desserts like honey noodles with ice cream or the choco-mocha brownies.
