A walk through south Mumbai’s Fort area, dotted with immaculately maintained heritage buildings, is likely to transport you to 19th-century London. Start from Victorian-style St. Xavier’s College in Marine Lines, and head towards the buzzing lanes of Colaba. On your way, you’ll spot the headquarters of Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay High Court, Flora Fountain, and the iconic Gateway of India. Even lesser-known structures like the Bombay Municipal Corporation building across the Oval Maidan will charm with their picture-perfect architecture. Carry your camera along, and stop for a snack at one of the many roadside eateries, some of which are over 50-years old.
