In Soviet times, Lenin’s final resting place was a popular pilgrimage for all visitors to Moscow, although in modern times it’s only curious foreigners who are eager to ogle at the communist leader lying in his glass coffin. The waxy looking mummified corpse of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov - aka Lenin - has been on display in his mausoleum on Red Square since 1924. In Soviet times, Lenin’s final resting place was a popular pilgrimage for all visitors to Moscow, although in modern times it’s only curious foreigners who are eager to ogle at the communist leader lying in his glass coffin.
There are guards posted at every corner as you walk down into the tomb who will signal at you to be quiet and keep moving during the viewing, making the whole experience last little more than a few minutes.
