Known as the National Museum of Labour History until 2001, the People’s History Museum is a great place to visit. The museum is known for its history of democracy in Great Britain and gives an in-depth look into the lives of home, work and leisure of British people for the last 200 years. Here you can see some of the most important topics covered, such as radicalism, the Peterloo Massacre, 19th century trade unionism, women’s suffrage movement, cooperative movement, and also football. There is also a lot of material on the welfare movements, and advances in the lives of people who are working and living in Britain. The place also has Labour History Archive and Study Centre, all of which are of immense importance to the people of Britain.
