While addressing the press at an event in Panaji recently, Sawant also announced that Goa might likely reopen hotels, restaurants, malls, eateries and gym with 50 percent capacity, along with ensuring all social distancing norms are followed. He also said that the Goa State Government would send a petition to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to resume the above activities with due norms.
The Minister mentioned that since the number of COVID-19 infections are rising in India, it is likely that the lockdown might be extended to another 15 days.
Also, Goa can look forward to its first monsoon showers in the first week of June. This is due to the development of a low-pressure area over the adjoining east-central and southeast Arabian Sea.
