The Kantharpur banyan tree is spread across over half an acre, and is already a popular religious site among the locals. The site gets a pretty good number of visitors from all over the state and other parts of the country as well.
Kantharpur Mahakali Vad will be joining the list of religious tourism sites in Gandhinagar which includes attractions like the Akshardham Temple, Adalaj Trimandir, Mini Pawagadh, Shree Neelkanth Mahadev Mandir and Vasaniya Mahadev Temple.
Apart from these religious sites, Gandhinagar also has plenty of interesting places that one can explore. For instance, the magnificent Adalaj Stepwell is an architectural marvel. Sarita Udyan is a popular local picnic spot; Puneet Van is a botanical garden inspired by Hindu mythology, and the Craftsmen Village is a good place to shop for local arts and handicrafts. There are many other local attractions one can explore.
