The next time you visit Jordan, you can come back with a new record of sorts. Forget setting a vacation benchmark that might hint at the most luxurious, most lavish, or the most stunning, for this has nothing to do with either pomp or luxury. Yes, we are pointing at what is probably the smallest hotel in the world, a battered VW Beetle!
Those, who have seen the car on the roads, can have a fair idea of how small a hotel it would make. Yet, the fact did not deter Al-Malahim, the owner of the car to give his old wheels a new twist. In fact, he takes pride in running the place and also opines that the experience here is as good as any other 5-star hotel. The 64-year-old man from Jordan chose his village, Shoubak, to set up this hotel, slowly converting his car into one. If you are wondering what all in inside this hotel, do know that it equips just a bed and nothing else!

He even took a bank loan to set up a hotel lobby that he runs from a cave right by the car! The lobby is where visitors at the hotel can walk in to eat, all freshly cooked by the man himself. One can also shop for souvenirs and more collectables from a shop alongside, also run by Al-Malahim. He now has his eyes set on the title of the world’s smallest hotel and is quite confident that his place can beat up any other previous claim.
While this VW Beetle hotel might not be the best bet, especially if you are claustrophobic, it definitely makes for an experience. What adds more to it is the stunning scenery around; yes, Shoubak is blessed with some interesting terrain around it. You, of course, have the privilege to pore over it all from the hotel itself.
