The highlight of this centrally located hotel is the 150-year-old sandstone building which was originally occupied by Fairfax & Sons, Australia’s oldest and most reputed publishing house, for 99 years. They were followed by Bank of New South Wales for another 40 years after which it became a grand hotel. All of the 336 guest rooms and 26 suites feature modern amenities, large windows and high ceilings providing a sense of big space. Wi-Fi is free and smoking is not allowed within its premises. Dining options are generous. Their Bentley Restaurant & Bar, which has been judged the ‘Best New Restaurant’ at the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide Awards, serves Australian delicacies inspired by European cuisine. Bathed in natural light, the Lady Fairfax Room, which serves a full buffet breakfast daily, is a perfect venue for an intimate celebration of any kind.
