No relation to the famous London Claridges, this long-established hotel is nonetheless a solid five star choice, not least for its location near the city's major sites.
The hotel is showing its age in places but, nonetheless, the overall impression is good. Elegant decor and oodles of colonial charm are on offer, alongside good dining options, charming staff and a pleasant shaded garden.

Their restaurant Dhaba should not be missed: the hearty, spicy food served here showcases the cuisine of the north-west frontier. For a nightcap, try the vodka bar Aura, which stocks no less than 75 international brands.
