A homestay in Bhagsu, away from the city centre, House Om Tara is one of the best options for backpackers planning a long term stay. Run by an Indo-German couple, it is nestled in the middle of pine trees. You can choose from a range of cottages, double, single rooms and a tent that is pitched on its hilly slopes. All the rooms are well-ventilated and accommodated with huge beds and basic furnishings. Surrounded by peach, apricot and plum trees, the rooms are more like a hideout from Enid Blyton’s fantasy. Home-cooked, vegetarian meals are offered to the guests, in addition to freshly-baked desserts such as Bavarian brezels, vegan cakes, muffins and tofu specials. Treks, yoga sessions, organic farming sessions and Kathak classes are also arranged by the homestay family. House Om Tara is more of a perfect getaway rather than just a place to stay. Enjoy.
