Being on a backpacker budget doesn’t mean you should give up comfort and style when choosing where to stay. With beds in 6-person dorms starting around $15, guests can stay with new friends or choose to book one of the hostel’s private twin or double rooms with shared bathrooms. All rooms have been carefully decorated with Oxotel’s quirky minimalist style combining urban design with found materials and details. The hostel also has another ultra-unique way to stay, in a mobile camper located in the property’s back gardens complete with double bed, refrigerator, sitting area and private bathroom. Though it may be big on style, the hostel exudes that warm, welcoming vibe Chiang Mai is known for in all that it does. Make sure to visit the connected café and coffeehouse Artisan for delicious coffee and a selection of breakfast and lunch items. While the hostel isn’t in Chiang Mai’s Old city, it’s still close to the centre of town in an interesting area that was historically Chiang Mai’s silver craftsmen neighbourhood (you’ll notice a number of silver shops selling handmade jewellery and even a temple covered in hammered silver designs). The city’s local Saturday Night Walking Street also takes place right in front of the property every week.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
