An intimate hotel of contradictions
Like a piece of performance art you can sleep in, the New Majestic Hotel is quite the concept hotel. From its lobby installations to the swimming pool complete with peek-a-boo portholes providing restaurant patrons with the ultimate talking point, there's a surprise around every corner at this top Chinatown sleep.
Behind it's grand, colonial edifice, the hotels' 30 rooms are individually designed by emerging contemporary artists. Oozing urban chic, some suites boast private gardens, while others house his 'n' hers bathtubs and loft-style beds. As a nice touch, there's in-room Nespresso machines, Kiehl's toiletries, and a stereo system with iPod dockage. Room rates also include a consultation with the hotel's 'guest experience ambassador', who can help you craft your ideal Singaporean itinerary.
