High-rise luxury in well-heeled Silom
Noteworthy for: The hotel was turned into a live movie set in 2010 for the filming of 'The Hangover Part II'.
When it comes to hotels, Bangkok has never been short of five-star show-stoppers—but the Lebua at State Tower seems intent on redefining the genre. Deeming standard rooms to be far too run-of-the-mill, this all-suite abode raises the luxury bar but wisely forgoes the gaudy trappings of some of the city's other top-end offerings.
Fortunately, for a hotel that seems intent on creating the wow factor, elegance prevails throughout the 357 suites, which are kept polished but not showy. The most boastful element of the accommodations is their prodigious size.
