A boutique holding of the InterContinental group of hotels, Indigo bridges the gap between price and style, offering affordable albeit snazzy accommodation in Wan Chai. The award winning façade—designed to resemble a dragon wrapping itself around the skyscraper with a pearl (which is actually the pool) in its mouth—encases 138 rooms, a restaurant, business facilities, a fitness centre, rooftop bar and a stunning glass-bottom infinity pool on the 29th floor. Within no two rooms feature the same décor, and red and blue dominate the colour scheme. The interiors integrate the hotel’s location beautifully—the restaurant Café Post takes its name from the Wan Chai Post Office across the street, and the corridors are adorned with locally sourced artwork from Wan Chai—and have been designed and decorated as an extension of the surroundings. The hotel will also loan you a smartphone during your visit, and plough you with information on things to do and sights to see close by.
