Developed as a small country hotel in the 1950s, this one has shot to fame over the years for making massive improvements in décor and guest services that cater to every imaginable urban comfort and convenience. Included in the ‘100 best hotels in the world’ list by The Sunday Times, UK, this modest establishment’s offerings are more in line with luxury service apartments ideal for business travelers. Along with round the clock in-room dining and concierge services on call, it also does a good job with the usuals- laundry, housekeeping and chauffer-driven cars that could drive you around on cultural tours (if that’s what you seek). For those interested in some rest and rejuvenation, the hotel’s spa has several yoga and massage packages that could ensure you’re pampered silly. Foodies have much to look forward to here as their in-house restaurant, ‘Indian Accent’ was included in Time Out’s best restaurants in India. An eclectic mix of global ingredients and Indian cooking techniques come together to offer a menu that has everything from Foie Gras to Achaari New Zealand lamb. So much for globalization.
