Having sought the design expertise of revered London-based architects Foster + Partners for their latest hotel project, this Singaporean addition to the Capella chain is a particularly idiosyncratic blend of old and new. Foregoing some of the complex, modernistic glasswork seen in previous projects, such as London's 'gherkin' building, the result here is contemporary classic with the focus kept firmly on the site's two beautifully restored, 19th century buildings.
