Going offbeat in Dubai
Dubai is one of the most happening cities in the world renowned for its skyscrapers and glitzy nightlife. The city is the first choice of people who love extravagant parties; however, the city is so much more than all this. There are so many places to visit in Dubai which no one will ever tell you about. These hidden gems are always looked over by tourists because of all the sky-touching buildings and shopping malls.
So let’s explore the real Dubai and understand the city more closely.
Go on a cruise at Dubai Creek
People generally visit Dubai Creek to enjoy the high-food scene. But for an offbeat experience, go on a cruise and enjoy Dubai’s skyline via glass window. Book your evening at a cruise here and enjoy authentic food along with traditional music.
Visit Dubai Coffee Museum
In the Al Fahidi neighbourhood of Dubai lies this cute Dubai Coffee Museum which offers a perfect ambience to relax. People can come, sit and enjoy their favourite coffee while understanding more about their drink. The place has several experts on coffee who will explain their ways of making coffee.
Spend a day with artists at the Alserkal Avenue
This is a paradise for artists. The place is symbolic of Dubai’s hidden art scene and here one will find more than 35 galleries. There are a myriad of spaces where artists sit in peace and create masterpieces.
Explore Bur Dubai
This is one of the most historical centres on Dubai Creek. If you wish to see the real Dubai, this is the right place for you as Bur Dubai is brimming with traditional houses which are more than a 100-year old! There is also the Dubai Museum set inside Al Fahidi Fort which is a must-visit. The region is also renowned for its spice shops and has several lovely stalls where one can buy cinnamon, cloves and saffron, among others.
Spend time at the Dubai Pearl Museum
Not many must be aware of the hidden gem in Dubai. Located on the 15th floor of Emirates NBD headquarters, Dubai Pearl Museum is home to the world’s most valuable collections of Arabian pearls. The owner of these pearls is National Bank’s first chairman, Sultan Al Qwais who inherited the pearls from his father, a pearl merchant.
