Elephant Express: This safari train takes you inside the jungles of Zimbabwe

Have you ever heard of train safari? If not, then welcome to the Elephant Express, a safari train that takes you inside the gorgeous jungles of Zimbabwe! In fact, it is one of the best and spectacular ways to experience the diverse wildlife of Africa.

It’s a unique and exquisite safari experience in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe that visitors swear by. The safari train was launched in late 2014, and has been attracting wildlife lovers from across the globe since then. This train takes visitors on a lifetime journey between the Dete and Ngamo sidings into the wilderness.
This scenic journey is not only relaxing but also saves visitors from the rocky roads and the dangers of being exposed in the jungles amid the wild animals. The train can accommodate 22 passengers on individual coach seats. There’s plenty of room for luggage as well and it has a chemical toilet for passenger’s convenience.

The Elephant Express takes visitors on a 70 km of scenic trail, giving visitors an opportunity to witness wild animals like elephant, kudu, and wildebeest in their natural habitat. One can also spot a wide range of birds during this two hour long train safari.
The train then departs from Ngamo Siding at around 11 AM and reaches Dete Siding at 1 PM. Then again, it leaves at around 2 PM from Dete and reaches Ngamo at 4 PM. Visitors are also served drinks and snacks during the journeys. If you are on an afternoon train, then expect a cold beer or a gin and tonic.
