This is a great museum to bring the whole family to, especially if you have kids who are bound to be fascinated by the array of toys and games here. Grownups, on the other hand, will be going down memory lane with some of the things found here. It is one of the only museums in the world dedicated to the history of childhood and is set in two buildings, one on each side of the Royal Mile. For the next few months, this museum has a feature exhibit based around bedtime stories. Included in the exhibit are historic toys, a handmade quilt by over 60 children and magical projections. Permanent collections include games, home life, childrens’ clothes, books, historical toys and more. Open on Mondays, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM and on Sundays from 12 PM to 5 PM, entry to this one is free.
