Located close to the focal point of the city, Plaza de Armas, this popular restaurant serves some of the best vegetarian food possible. To top it all, it is also well priced and affordable, making it a great place to frequent when in Cusco. They serve tofu burger, fries, spaghetti, pancakes and whole wheat bread among other things. The best part is that a complimentary salad accompanies every meal that you order. They also offer fresh juices and home-made herbal tea to go with your meals.
Portions at El Encuentro are generous and dishes are prepared using fresh and seasonal ingredients that are procured locally. The place is small and does get overcrowded around meal times when you have to share tables with others. El Encuentro is not a very fancy eatery and neither does it pretend to be one. It is a casual dining place where the quality and taste of the food is priority. Service is quick and it stays open 6 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant is one of our favourites in Cusco!
