There are only a few Michelin-starred Indian restaurants in the world, Benares is the place to go in Madrid for classic, quality (and pricey) Indian food. Conceptualised by London-based Masterchef Atul Kochhar, Benares is located in the upscale area of Zurbano. Served in an appetite-inducing ambiance, Benares offers an eclectic repertoire of Pan Indian food featuring local produce and flavours blended cleverly to suit the Spanish palate. Standout dishes include monkfish in mustard and coconut sauce, soft shell crab, chicken tikka and lamb tandoori. Ask for the Indian street food style tapas, and go home hooked and booked.
