Pop in because the Dock Café, situated in the Titanic Quarter, is fascinating—whichever way you look at it. You can linger as long as you feel like, over your coffee, tea, soup or scones. You can even bring your own food in. But best of all, the space works on the ethic of an honesty-box payment system (customers choose what they pay), rather than have a fixed amount on a bill to be paid at a till. And if that isn’t welcoming enough, the place has sofas on which to curl up, board games by which to forge a sense of community with other patrons, free Wi-Fi with which enable a spot of work. There’s also the work of local artists on display, along with artefacts from the Belfast docks nearby. If the Titanic memorabilia doesn’t fascinate you, the friendships that begin here will.
