A low-key French bistro only steps from the 6th Street madness
Popular plate: You'll find the brie with apples and walnuts on the dessert menu but it's also an excellent appetizer.

Located stumbling distance from the debauchery on 6th Street, Chez Nous has been quietly serving classic French cuisine to Austinites since 1982. Co-owner Pascal Regimbeau, originally from Paris, adds to the convivial vibe by roaming through the casual bistro and chatting with guests.
The confits de canard is a popular main dish: the duck legs are grilled crisp and served with a marmalade of red onions, blueberries, and orange zest. All entrees are served with highly addictive pommes dauphines (breaded potato balls). For a grand finale, consider the delicate crepe Normande, which is slathered in creme fraiche and wrapped around brandy-soaked apples.
