When you come tete-a-tete with a life size replica of a truck cabin, don’t get startled! When you see a dog relieving itself perennially in front of the truck, don’t be alarmed! You might wonder these being out of place in the opulent settings of Mayfair Lagoon. Located near Jayadev Vihar square, this is what defines the apt title of the restaurant. Once inside, nothing seems reminiscent of a roadside dhaba. When you have live ghazals, wooden furniture, intricate sculptures, aesthetic lighting, folk paintings, decorated curtains and old movie posters adorning the interiors, it seems nothing less than a palatial setting. Apart from authentic North Indian affair, it is famous for its baked ‘gur rasagulla’. With a translucent kitchen to watch the jugular skills (while making flat breads and rotis) of the chefs with white double-breasted jacket with their customary toque blanche, there won’t be a moment in Nakli Dhaba to get bored.
