Bacareto da Lele

Bacareto da Lele is one of the best baracos in Venice, and it’s a real bargain. It’s a small, local, stand up bar in the Santa Croce area, close to the train station that is always busy with workers and students who stop by for a cheap ombra (glass of Venetian wine or prosecco) for less than a Euro. Bacareto da Lele is also popular for its tasty mini Paninis that contain fresh fillings, including cured meats like prosciutto or salami, pancetta, sundried tomatoes, and artichokes for only €1. There are also daily specials displayed on the blackboard. The place is tiny so most people stand outside or sit by the canal to enjoy their wine and snacks.
