Known for its pink and green walls and sticky menus, Ace Cafe & Bar might be a bit too raw for discerning travellers, but most backpackers will feel right at home here. It is one of those places where locals and foreigners both go not just to eat, but also to have a drink. The place is popular with large groups and people who like to be social, to linger around and have a couple extra beers after their meal. The food at Ace Cafe is limited primarily to Indian and Nepali dishes or rather, that is what they are best at. Although the menu does have burgers and pizza on it, as well as a few Chinese dishes, trust me on this one and just skip those. They will only be a disappointment.
Best Bet? Order either a Thali or Newari set (Rs 130-200) and a cold beer, then strike up a conversation with whoever is nearby while you wait for your food.
