Junput is one gorgeous offbeat destination in West Bengal (Purba Medinipur district), and many must not be aware of this spots. But being one of the lesser-known beach destinations also has its merits. A fact that makes the place perfect for soul searchers and peace lovers. For those who wish to escape the crowd and sound of motors, Junput is probably the right place for them.
Though there is not much to see or do in Junput when it comes to tourists spots, but the beaches and silence here is just more than enough. The beaches of Junput are absolutely safe for swimming, so do not come here without your swimwear whenever you plan a visit. A visit to Junput is all about living with, along and by the sea. Just sitting there on a beach, doing nothing but just listening to the waves and counting the swaying palm trees. Watching the sunrise and sunset is another beautiful thing that can be done in the region.
But for marine lovers, there is one Marine Biology Museum in the region where people can educate themselves about aquatic life. For religiously inclined souls, there’s a Kapal Kundala Mandir also, but one of the best places to see here is the pretty Dariapur Lighthouse in the region. If you wish to wander a bit more in the region to know more about it, then just 10 km from here is a centuries old Jagannath Dev Temple. The temple is quite revered given the history and values attached to it.
