Pokhara is a sub-metropolitan and the second largest city of Nepal. Located at a distance of 200 km from Kathmandu, Pokhara is the headquarters of Kaski district, Gandaki zone and the western development region. It’s the gateway to many world famous treks. Additionally, its close proximity with the Annapurna Range, the third highest mountain in the world, makes it a base city for the mountaineers taking Annapurna Circuit through the ACAP region. Pokhara remained unaffected during the massive earthquake in Nepal. It is amongst the best paragliding site in the world, surrounded by white-water rivers. Home to Gurkha soldiers, it has a fascinating museum dedicated to them. The spectacular beauty of the place, adventure activities, and the charm make it a popular getaway among tourists. Foreigners regard Pokhara as Nepal’s adventure destination.
