Celebrity Travel - Tisca Chopra
Travel style: I try and travel light but in the end I give up and pack too much stuff. Toiletries, shoes, accessories ... I always end up paying for excess baggage.
Food while travelling When in New York I have to eat Mexican. A restaurant called Rosa Mexicano is my favourite. They make fresh guacamole at your table.
Must-pack items: Tooth brush, perfume & curiosity.
Travel lesson you have learnt: Travel teaches you the true nature of your co-traveller. So choose wisely who you travel with – you may find yourself very alone otherwise. That and always carry clothes in layers – you can layer up or down depending on the weather.
Funniest or scariest travel moment: When I lost my passport at Paris airport because I was also trying to carry a delicate lampshade in hand luggage. Luckily it had fallen in the car park so we were able to find it and catch the flight.
Travel gear: Easy clothes with edgy accessories like boots, sunglasses, sunblock.
Travel goals: One solo vacay a year is mandatory for me. Long walks, mountains and some time to reflect on the journey of life. And one trip with my sisters or girlfriends – it revives the soul.
Travel pet peeves: Coming back from a vacation.
Best weekend getaway: A weekend in London is great – some fab food, lots of walking and throw in a bit of theatre.
Family holiday: Going to national parks or nature reserves is great with kids – they change in the outdoors. Last year we went to Panna National park and this year to the Banff National Park (pic right) in Canada. I’m planning to go swim in the Dead Sea.
Next stop: I’m in love with places I’ve never been to – Machu Picchu, Mexico, Montenegro ... let’s see where the wind carries me next.
