Soon, Bhutan will have five new entry and exit border points to facilitate travel for regional tourists. This move comes in the wake of promoting tourism in the region. As per the reports, the National Assembly of Bhutan recently endorsed the idea of allowing regional tourists to enter and exit through the border towns of Samdrupjongkhar, Samtse, Gelephu, Panbang, and Panbang. The National Assembly also endorsed the proposal to starting direct flight between Guwahati and Yongphula, Bumthang and Gelephu. It is also expected that the Bhutan Government will likely consider entry and exit points through Jomotshangkha and Lhamoizingkha as well.
Bhutan is a tiny kingdom that sits in the lap of the Himalayas between China and India. With it being labelled as the happiest country in Asia, this latest move will boost tourism and spread happiness further.
