A weekend of sailing ferries – at just 11.6 km away from Athens, Piraeus is yet another eye-catching destination for a great weekend getaway. One of the main ports of Greece, Piraeus is full of ferries and ships, ready to leave an everlasting impression in the mind of a traveller. When in Piraeus, one should head to the eastern region, around Zea Marina and Mikrolimano harbour. This is where you will find all the attractive cafes, restaurants, and bars. The Archaeological Museum of Piraeus is a much popular attraction among visitors here, as this is where you can find a number of interesting historical collections. The museum artefacts in fact go as far back as the Archaic and Classical periods. A primary touristy thing to do while in Piraeus is to sail to the Greek Islands, which is astonishing in its own right. Do not forget the multitude of Greek diners, waiting to give you a taste of Mediterranean cuisine.
