Mumbai to host Mumbai Sanskriti on Jan 12-13; aims to save Mumbai heritage

Mumbai is gearing up to celebrate Mumbai Sanskriti 2019 and is busy scheduling events for this big day. This popular classical music festival will be celebrated on January 12–13. This festival is an initiative of the Indian Heritage Society (IHS), supported by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (MTDC).
IHS began this initiative way back in the year 1992 of using ‘Live Music to Save Heritage’ with the Banganga Festival, which was later relocated along the Asiatic Library steps and renamed ‘Mumbai Sanskriti’ after the court’s order regarding noise rules.

This year, be a part of this festival and enjoy a musical evening that celebrates the richness of our culture. Anyone can gain access to this festival without even paying a dime and be a part of this two-day concert under the open skies of Town Hall (also known as Asiatic Library), which is the first public building in the city.
On the first day of festival, Yamini and Bhavana will be gracing the stage with their duet Kuchipudi dance performance, choreographed by Padmabhushan duo Radha Reddy and Dr Raja. The next day, visitors will be enthralled by the performance of Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, who will be presenting ‘Desert Slide’ along with those talented Rajasthani folk musicians.

As per the latest reports, this will be the 10th year of Mumbai Sanskriti and those related to the initiative are motivated to continue in their journey of bringing awareness regarding the rich heritage of the city because of its culture and people.
